Uhuru addresses campaign rallies in four counties

President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto Tuesday intensified Jubilee campaigns addressing five rallies in four counties spread across of Western, Rift Valley and Central regions.

With only seven days remaining to the August 8 polls, the President and his team traversed the terrains of Bungoma, Uasin Gishu, Baringo and Nyandarua counties holding rallies and highlighting his Administration’s delivery track record.

Addressing excited residents of Ndaragwa in Nyandarua County, President Kenyatta said his administration intends to put up a factory to process farm produce to boost job creation for the youth in the area.

“This is one of the regions where Irish potatoes are grown in plenty, once the Jubilee Government is re-electe d we will ensure a factory to do value addition for the benefit of the farmers,” said the President.

The President pointed out that Nyandarua, which was previously neglected in terms of development, has experienced tremendous progress in the last four-and-half years because of the Jubilee administration.

He cited the expansion of electricity connection, road network and upgrading of health facilities, saying his Government is planning to install modern equipment in Ndaragwa hospital to make it a Level 4 referral health facility in Nyandarua County.

“I urge you to turn out in large numbers on August 8 so that we can win this election and continue with our development agenda,” said the President.

The President said to curb water shortage in the area, the Government is planning to implement water projects which will serve Nyandarua County residents.

He said plans are at an advanced stage to construct Kinja dam which will serve the residents of N yandarua.

Deputy President Ruto said the Jubilee Administration has transformed Nyandarua County in just a period of four-and-half years and urged the residents to come out in large numbers to vote on the August 8th polls.

“For many years, Nyandarua was neglected, but as we are speaking there are 300 Km of roads being tarmacked. In 2013, we had 23,000 households connected to electricity but now we have 64,000 households which are connected to electricity,” said the Deputy President.

The Deputy President expressed confidence that Jubilee will win the August polls, saying the opposition has sensed a humiliating defeat that’s why it has resorted to unnecessary complaints.

In Bumula Constituency, Bungoma County where the President began his itinerary, he urged residents to choose the continuation of progress by voting for Jubilee in the August 8 polls instead of the opposition’s empty rhetoric.

At Kimilili, President Kenyatta said he has laid s trong foundations for prosperity by investing equally in every county in Kenya, and it was time to vote him back to finish the job.

He said the developments initiated in Bungoma County were proof that the Jubilee Government has the interests of all Kenyans at heart.

Addressing a huge rally in Eldoret’s 64 Stadium, President Kenyatta asked police to increase security for presidential candidates and the IEBC staff ahead of the August 8th elections.

In Baringo County, President Kenyatta asked Kenyans to remains peaceful during this campaign period and shun those who advocate for violence and disunity.

The President asked Baringo residents to support his re-election bid to enable him complete his development agenda for Kenyans.

Meanwhile, President Kenyatta has expressed his deep shock and sadness following the murder of the Manager in charge of ICT at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Chr is Msando alongside Caro Ngumbu.

While joining in prayer with their families and other Kenyans of good will, the President said that Msando was a man who gave himself to the service of his country, and its institutions.

The Head of State asked Kenyans to let those institutions charged with investigations to bring those involved in the killing to justice.

Careless speculation at this time of grief the president said only makes the work of investigators harder and adding pain to those who loved him.

In a statement to newsrooms the President reminded Kenyans to respect Msando’s life, his achievements, and his memory by allowing investigations to proceed calmly. He gave an assurance that his administration will secure the lives, the property, and the safety of all Kenyans.
